Service

Our ISVA (Independent Sexual Violence Advisor) service is a vital resource for survivors of sexual violence in Stoke-on-Trent. Additionally, Independent Sexual Violence Advisers (ISVAs) play an important role in providing specialist tailored support to victims and survivors of sexual violence. An ISVA is an adviser who works with people who have experienced rape and sexual assault, irrespective of whether they have reported to the police.

What is an ISVA?

Independent Sexual Violence Advisor (ISVA) specialise in providing support to individuals who have experienced rape and sexual assault, regardless of whether they have reported the incident to the police. ISVAs also offer compassionate guidance, practical assistance, and advocacy to survivors, ensuring their needs are met and their voices are heard.

About Savana's ISVA Service:

Savana is proud to house three dedicated Independent Sexual Violence Advisors (ISVAs) and one Children’s ISVA (CHISVA). Our ISVAs are committed to providing exceptional support to survivors of sexual violence. 

Savana’s ISVA service is Lime Culture accredited. This affirms that our ISVA team upholds the highest standards of quality and professionalism in providing survivor-centered care. Our ISVA Services are available free of charge to anyone who has experienced sexual violence and abuse in Stoke-on-Trent.

How an ISVA can support you:

ISVAs provide a range of practical and specialist support in various areas. This includes; benefits, housing, education/employment, health, support with reporting, support through the criminal justice system, and lastly, by liaising with other organisations on your behalf. 

Whether you need assistance understanding your rights, accessing additional support, or navigating the criminal justice system. Our ISVAs are here to stand by your side, ensuring your voice is heard and your needs are met.
