Successful 4th Annual Rock Against Abuse Event
The 4th Annual Rock Against Abuse event, held at The Rigger Venue on 11th & 12th August, was a powerful showcase of music and community impact. The event aimed to challenge the stigma around sexual violence and child abuse while addressing critical issues. It brought together music enthusiasts, local bands, and generous community members for an extended weekend of support and awareness.
Bands like The Sherry Counsellors, The Hot News, Dark Root Falls, Naked Sunday, Ruffnecks, Don’t Eat at Joe’s, Hard Drive, and Static Sun rocked the stage, delivering unforgettable performances. The community showed immense generosity by contributing prizes for two raffles, including sought-after items like Stoke City and Port Vale match tickets, the official Stoke City shirt, experience days, Marc Jacobs and Ted Baker perfume gift sets, and more.
This collective effort culminated in raising an impressive £1943, marking the highest-ever fundraising total for Rock Against Abuse. The event’s success was further amplified by the introduction of official Rock Against Abuse merchandise, which featured t-shirts, tote bags, and wristbands. These items not only added to the event’s vibrant atmosphere but also helped raise awareness, funds and support for survivors of sexual violence and child abuse.
